Hello! My name is Meg Kirby and I am excited to be teaching first grade at MMR. While it is my first year here, it is not my first time in first grade. I have been teaching first grade since 2019, and I absolutely love it! I cannot wait to share my enthusiasm and excitement for learning with the children. In our classroom we will learn together using a variety of methods, including technology and multi-sensory activities. It is my hope that, through our engaging and exciting classroom, the children become equally passionate about learning. I believe each child should be met wherever they are in their learning journey-spiritually, academically and socially. Each child has special and unique God-given talents which I look forward to nurturing and cultivating during our time together. Through faith, all things are possible!
On a more personal note, I received my Master of Science in Education from Gwynedd Mercy University for Pre-School - Grade 4, and I am certified in Pennsylvania. Previously, I attended Mount St. Joseph Academy and Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Philadelphia. I am a proud United States Navy veteran which not only afforded me the opportunity to visit all over the world and to complete my degree in higher education, but it is also where I met my husband. We have three beautiful and energic girls, two rambunctious dogs, and a sassy cat. Of course, I love all Philadelphia sports teams, but the Eagles are my favorite. Some of my other favorite things include the color blue, Dr. Pepper, and gummy bears.
I look forward to having the best year yet! I know this is possible thanks to Mary, our Mother, who constantly intercedes for us.
